Work: We Are Oceania (WAO) began as a project of the Pacific Focused project to empower Pacific Islander students at UH Hilo. The name and website was donated to a new nonprofit organization in Honolulu for which Vid serves as a consultant. The website was later redesigned by WAO volunteer Brad Rentz to incorporate the growing needs of the organization, but it has retained its basic feel of simplicity, user-friendliness, simplicity, and elegance.

The mission of the We Are Oceania is to advocate for the health of Micronesian individuals and families, empowering them to weave their indigenous skills, knowledge, and being/values with their newly acquired knowledge of their new community on O‘ahu, in order to reach their full potential and become self-sufficient.
